The first time I saw Kiwi Lane Designs I thought that their layouts were super cute. I am an advanced scrapbooker who teaches classes so why would I want to use their templates.
Let me tell you what I found out.
First, I had never used 5 different patterned papers before on a single layout. I might have used a couple along with Bobunny dot paper to add color but never that many patterns at the same time.
Second, I found that I can scrap pages faster knowing what the end results would be. It gives me greater freedom to add embellishments and play with beautiful results.
Third I was able to go back to some of my personal stash of paper which I was going to sell, and look at it in a whole new way.
So when Kiwi had a design team call I answered. I am so honored that they asked me to be their guest designer in February.  I have been busting at the seams with excitement! They asked me to use their Sweetheart Templates which was perfect with Valentines Day around the corner!
I started creating a layout with Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection.  I used the awesome  Sweetheart Templates as well as Paisley Lane 1 & 2, and scallop boarder from Kiwi Lane Designs. I loved the colors because it wasn't just the typical red you would expect for Valentines Day, and the templates were perfect for what I was looking to achieve. One thing I found out that might be helpful. Don't mix two different brands of Lacquer, they react badly.

On the second layout I used Authentique’s new Lovely collection and of course the Sweetheart templates. I incorporated a lot of the stickers from the Lovely collection as well as using the hearts and arrows from the Sweetheart Templates. I traced the brackets and with a ruler made the bracket longer for this layout. I am waiting for my son’s Valentine’s Day party at school to add pictures. At least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it. My New Years resolution is to get pictures on all 60 layouts I have with no pictures.

So here’s my exciting deal. Go on a blog hop, get great ideas. If you leave a comment I will be giving away one sweetheart templates for you to give Kiwi Lane Designs a try. Be forewarned, once you try them you will be hooked!   Also a random winner will be picked from  ONE  of the 13 blogs (including the Kiwi Lane blog), and will be given a $25 gift certificate to the  Kiwi Lane Design Shop, just for leaving a comment! So go hopping and have a great time!

Getting to know me!

I am also a Regional Vice President for a financial service company. I am a happily married wife of 15 years and mother of a 4 ½ year old beautiful active boy. It took us 13 years to conceive him. I started scrapbooking 4 years ago to document my son’s growing years. I felt I wanted to leave him with all his childhood memories, and now he is stuck with my addiction, including Ten 12 x 12 albums to date! My friends tease me he is going to go off to college with 50 albums and his future wife will hate me. I want him to have a prenuptial that protects the albums. I believe my addiction was genetically passed down to my son, because he loves to use my punches and cricut, especially the animal kingdom cartridge!
I love to scrapbook, by myself or preferably with friends. I have at least 6 different groups of friends that I crop with, and I passed on my addiction to my mother, so I can normally find someone willing to crop with me. For my birthday this year my husband was out of town on business so 8 of my friends came to my house for a chocolate & scrapbooking party- It was the best party I ever had! I now want to make it a yearly event!
I enjoy family time and feel blessed every minute I am with my husband and son! We love being with family and friends, biking, fishing, camping, reading, scuba diving, and my favorite thing to do is to go on vacation! My favorite color is red, movie is any chick flick with a happy ending especially American President. My favorite drink is coffee, which is my only other addition after scrapbooking. I love hot coffee, iced coffee, espresso, café Americano, as long as its coffee! Oh and then there is chocolate and gummy bear too! It all seems to go with scrapbooking.

First time blogging

Hi all,
I am so excited to be starting this blog. I have plans on sharing my greatest obsession scrapbooking. I will be sharing layouts, check out some at the bottom of the blog, how to design with the cricut machine, how to use photoshop to hybrid scrapbook and much more. If there are things you would like to see, just send me a post and I would be happy to comply. I plan on posting once or twice a week just to share new ideas. Have a great day, and keep scrapping:)
